How it works

From customer call to useful job details.

A simple managed service. We configure it with you, test it, and help you get calls routed correctly.

Step 01

Your customer calls

They call your existing business number with suitable forwarding, or a dedicated receptionist number supplied for your business.

Step 02

Your receptionist answers

The caller is greeted professionally and asked the approved questions for your business. If an answer is not known, the receptionist does not guess.

Step 03

You receive the job details

You get a clear summary with the caller's contact details, service required, suburb, urgency, preferred time, and next action.

Hear a realistic example

Air Conditioner Demo

Listen to a complete demonstration call for a fictitious Australian air-conditioning repair business. The full conversation is included so you can hear the pace, questions, and caller experience you can expect.

Demonstration only. The business and caller are fictitious, and the recording contains no real customer information.

What is included

A managed front desk for the calls you cannot take.

We focus on practical call handling for trade and service businesses, not complicated software you must configure yourself.

Answer calls when you cannot

Cover on-site work, driving, lunch breaks, busy periods, after hours, or times when staff are already on calls.

Capture useful job details

Collect the caller's name, mobile, suburb, service needed, urgency, preferred time, and relevant notes.

Use your existing number

Forward unanswered, busy, after-hours, or overflow calls where your telephone provider supports it.

Receive clear summaries

Get enough information to decide whether to call back, quote, schedule a visit, or escalate an urgent job.

Support booking requests

Capture preferred appointment times now, then add calendar-aware booking when your rules and calendar are ready.

Managed setup and testing

We configure the greeting, questions, escalation rules, phone-routing approach, and initial booking behaviour with you.

Managed onboarding

You explain your business. We handle the setup.

You do not need to write scripts, build workflows, or learn a voice platform. We turn your approved business information into a receptionist setup and test it with you before launch.

Usage is measured from aggregated provider-billed production call seconds. During the pilot, reaching the allowance does not automatically suspend service, charge an overage, or change your plan.

All prices are in Australian dollars (AUD) and exclude GST. Australian customers are charged an additional 10% GST. Telephone-number and call-routing availability is confirmed for your country or region during setup.

Frequently asked questions

The practical details.

Can I keep my existing business phone number?

In most cases, yes. You can keep using your current number and forward suitable unanswered, busy, after-hours, or overflow calls to the receptionist number we provide. The exact options depend on your phone provider.

Where is the service available?

AlwaysOn Receptionist is based in Australia and can support businesses in other countries where suitable telephone, call-routing, language, and regulatory requirements can be met. We confirm availability for your country or region during setup. All published prices are in AUD and exclude GST; Australian customers are charged an additional 10% GST.

How are included minutes calculated?

We aggregate provider-billed production call seconds across your subscription period. Approved demos, internal development calls, explicit tests, and duplicate provider events are excluded.

What happens when I reach my included minutes?

During the pilot, your service is not automatically suspended and no automatic overage charge is applied. We notify you and contact you to review whether another plan or a Custom arrangement is more suitable.

Will the receptionist sound natural?

You will be able to review test calls and approve the greeting, tone, questions, and call-handling behaviour before launch. We do not rely on unsupported claims that every caller will experience the service in exactly the same way.

What happens if the receptionist does not know the answer?

It should not guess. It will collect the caller's details and explain that your business will confirm the answer, following the fallback wording approved during setup.

Can it book appointments?

It can capture booking requests from the beginning. Exact appointments should only be confirmed once your calendar, service area, job durations, travel requirements, and approved booking rules can be checked reliably.

Can it answer only when I miss a call?

Yes, where supported by your phone provider. Calls may be forwarded when unanswered, busy, after hours, or during overflow periods. We will help you identify the most suitable approach.

Do I need a CRM or booking system?

No. You can start without one. We can discuss your existing process and provide basic calendar setup guidance during onboarding when needed.

What information can it collect?

Typical details include the caller's name, mobile number, suburb or job location, service required, urgency, preferred day or time, and additional notes relevant to your business.

What does the setup fee cover?

The setup fee covers business discovery, approved call rules, receptionist configuration, phone-routing assistance, test calls, adjustments, and launch support.

Can I change how calls are handled later?

Yes. Your approved call-handling rules can be reviewed and updated as your services, team, operating hours, or business processes change.

Leave your details and we will call you to discuss your business, expected call volume, phone setup, and what the receptionist should capture.
